The Bomar Apartments
The Bomar Apartments won the Preservation Award from Historic Fort Worth in September 2012.
The six apartments for rent in this 1907-era building (originally built as a 6Plex and always kept that way) in Historic Fairmount are a few blocks from Magnolia Avenue, and close to Fort Worth’s hospitals and downtown. We saved the building from demolition in August 2010 and worked on it until October 2011. Layers of linoleum, carpet and paint were pulled off and the original hardwood exposed, sanded and varnished. All of the bricks from North and South side of the building were brought down, cleaned and re-attached. The building was lifted 7.5 inches on one side and 5 on the other and the whole underside of the building was rebuilt. Now the Bomar Apartments stand in its original glory and is filled with character and light. The apartments have central A/C and heat, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer hookups, claw foot bathtubs and front and back porches.
